PUBLIC toilets in a park in Minehead will be closed today (Monday, September 2) due to a drainage issue.

The toilets in Blenheim Gardens will remain closed today, Minehead Town Council said this morning.

The council also added they are “working hard with Wessex Water to resolve the problem”.

A spokesperson for Minehead Town Council said: “The toilets in Blenheim Gardens will remain closed today (Monday, September 2) due to a drainage issue that is currently being addressed.

“The town council are working hard with Wessex Water to resolve the problem and reopen the facilities as soon as possible.

“In the meantime, the nearest alternative public toilets are available at the Summerland Road (Co-op) car park.

“We apologise for any disruption this may cause to visitors of Blenheim Gardens.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore full access to the toilets.

This morning (Tuesday, September 3) Minehead Town Council said: "Great news. 

"We're pleased to announce that the drainage issue at the Blenheim Gardens toilets has been successfully resolved. The facilities are back in operation as of today.

"We appreciate your patience and understanding during the closure.

"Thank you for bearing with us while we addressed this problem."
