A MAN from Oakhill, near Shepton Mallet, has been given a community order with 80 hours on unpaid community work after admitting assault by beating.
Wayne Darby-Jones committed the offence in Oakhill on March 27.
Magistrates ruled that his victim cannot be named for legal reasons.
Darby-Jones, 54, who lives in Oakhill, was given a community order with rehabilitation activity and must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.
He was ordered to pay £85 towards Crown Prosecution Service costs, along with a £114 victim surcharge by October 1.
Magistrates said a restraining order was "not necessary" and compensation was "not suitable".
