JOIN a host of local experts next month as Mendip Hills team up with Somerset Earth Science Centre to host a “festival of events.”
This year Mendip Rocks! is running from 1 October to 26 October.
Mendip Rocks! is an annual festival of geology that hosts a series of events to celebrate the fascinating 450-million-year history of the Mendip Hills.
It engages people of all ages by providing unique opportunities to experience and understand how geology influences the landscape, heritage, and wildlife of the Mendip Hills National Landscape and wider across East Mendip.
Some of the events planned include a Radstock coal and railway walk, Batts Combe quarry tours, and a Stoke Quarry tour.
As part of the series of events, Mendip Rocks! will be celebrating Earth Science Week from 13 – 19 October.
As part of this week, individuals will be able to join experienced caver, Peter Glanvill on a guided walk around the Priddy Area in Wells on 16 October.
You can book all the events listed and the pricing for each event via Eventbrite.
