A NURSERY near Taunton has been rated ‘good’ after it was inspected by Ofsted in August.
Beehive Day Nursery, which was registered in 2011 and is located in Bishops Hull, employs 25 members of staff who work with the children.
The nursery has achieved a standard of ‘good’ in each of Ofsted's four categories.
These are:
- The quality of education
- Behaviour and attitudes
- Personal development
- Leadership and management.
Inspector Rachael Williams said: “Children keenly participate in nursery life and thrive in the warm and welcoming environment.
“They engage in a broad curriculum, leading their own play and immersing themselves in focused learning.
“Young children show curiosity, for example, when using a range of tools to make marks.
“Staff sing and sign familiar songs, encouraging babies to become familiar with vocabulary and the rhythm of words.
“Babies listen attentively and respond with a happy smile.
“They assess children's progress well and quickly identify where children may require extra support.”
When considering the setting at the nursery and what the nursery can do to improve, Rachael said: “It is important to embed systems to raise the quality of teaching and interactions to a consistently high level to challenge children further.”
The nursery opens daily from 7.30am to 6pm, closing for two weeks a year and bank holidays. The safeguarding arrangements at the nursery are “effective”.
The children at the Beehive Day Nursery are aged between one and four years old.
Ofsted's school rating system is changing in several ways for the 2024–2025 academic year, including Report cards instead of single-word grades and no more subject deep dives during ungraded inspections.
