A TAUNTON independent craft beers and gin bar is getting ready to celebrate its second birthday this week.
Ninkasi Craft Beer and Gin Lounge, based in the town’s independent quarter, will celebrate its second anniversary this Friday, September 20.
The bar, run by Rob Pendleton and his partner Paula Robinson, will host a tap take over and ‘meet the brewer’ experience on the day.
Rob said: “We are proud to be a part of the independent quarter and have met some great people from other businesses within it.
“We have a new team member, Courtney, who is a great asset to the team.
“We have monthly events almost every month and we have had great support from some of the best breweries in the UK.
“Although it's been a tough year for the industry, we continue to come up with new ideas, beers and events in order to give our patrons the very best experience and the best craft beers and west country gins Taunton has to offer.
“We will be celebrating our second birthday with a Polly’s tap takeover and meet the brewer experience on Friday, September 20 from 4pm.”
Ninkasi opened in September 2022 to provide residents with a big range of locally sourced craft beers and gins.
The bar is named after the Mesopotamian goddess of beer and features six permanent beers and five others that will change regularly.
Ninkasi offers a selection of both local and international drinks, with some beers coming from breweries based in Chard and Shepton Mallet, and West Country gins.
