A TEMPORARY one-way order will restrict traffic on The Crescent in Taunton for resurfacing works.

Somerset Council plans to enforce the order from the junction with Upper High Street to the junction with Park Street, covering a total distance of 325 metres. The order will also ban all traffic on Crescent Way, from its junction with The Crescent for its entirety.

Heidelberg, on behalf of Somerset Highways, will carry out the preparatory and resurfacing works.

The preparatory work is scheduled to start on September 30 and is expected to last until October 18.

The work will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm, for a total of 19 days.

During this period, The Crescent will be temporarily one-way northwards from the junction with Upper High Street to the junction with Park Street.

Crescent Way will operate under traffic lights.

The restrictions will only be in place when indicated by traffic signs.

The resurfacing works are planned to begin on October 21 and are anticipated to last until October 25.

This phase of the project will require a full closure of the road from 6.30pm to 11.30pm for a total of five nights.

This was revealed in a public notice posted on the Public Notice Portal on September 12.
