The Mediaeval Baebes' torch-lit procession is on its way to Dunster this Christmas.

It will take place at St George's Church on Sunday, December 8.

Visitors can take part in the 'Lighting of the Chalice' ceremony, which includes a procession featuring music and dance.

The public is encouraged to join in the festivities by bringing along instruments, lanterns, or dressing up.

The procession will lead into an evening concert.

It will feature a mix of carols, traditional folk songs, and other music, performed with a range of period and exotic instruments.

The group will also share stories about the history and folklore of the Chalice, songs, and lyrics.

Concert-goers will also be treated to new compositions from the Mediaeval Baebes.

The Mediaeval Baebes are known for their unique blend of early music and folk.

They have released 11 studio albums and have won an Ivor Novella Award for their performance on the BBC series The Virgin Queen.

In 2023, they collaborated with Orbital on the track 'Ringa Ringa', which reached number 6 in the album charts.

Tickets for the Dunster concert are priced at £28.50 for adults and £13 for children.
