REFURBISHMENT work at Avon and Somerset Police’s new station in Minehead is nearing completion.
The station on Stephenson Road (the former Seahorse Centre) is expected to open in early November.
It will be the new home for Minehead’s Neighbourhood Policing Team and enquiry office.
There will also be touchdown desks for response officers to work from.
Until the new station opens, Avon and Somerset Police officers and staff will continue to work out of the old station on Townsend Road, which will soon be advertised for sale.
More details on the opening date will be available closer to the time.
Part of the building will be leased back to Somerset Council, with work on this section expected to be completed in the coming months.
The council will work with other public and social care provider partners to use the site to deliver training to health and social care staff as part of the government’s Levelling Up Programme.
