Wellington's youngest and oldest citizens came together this week.
Nynehead Court hosted a Little Hands and Big Hearts session, where babies, toddlers, and older adults enjoyed a nurturing and playful environment.
The initiative is the brainchild of Growing Minds, designed to create a unique intergenerational opportunity.
Joanne Fenn, manager of Nynehead Court, said: "Our residents love watching and spending time with children, so this session was a real treat for them.
"They enjoyed talking to the mums and hearing their stories, which reminded them of when they were bringing up their own families.
"This was the first of what we hope will be a regular event in our calendar."
Nynehead Court provides retirement living for older people requiring residential or respite care, or close care housing.
It is set in 18 acres of parkland and is registered to provide residential care for 44 people within the Court, and close care housing for 11 retirees/couples within the Mews.
The Mulberry Lounge caters for those requiring more support, with a higher ratio of staff to residents.
The 11 close care Mews houses provide the opportunity to extend home ownership and live independently, with every level of care, support, and security available if required.
