A LOCAL housebuilder’s funding scheme is set to close which offers a chance for community groups to be given a £10,000 fund.
There’s no cause too small, so whether funds are required for art supplies to help local Brownies get creative, a search and rescue team in need of new lifejackets, or a local children’s group wishing to go on their first-ever campout.
Shares are likely to be divided based on the financial needs of the community group's submission.
This initiative, started up by Redrow South West, which is currently building new homes across Somerset including at Woodborough Grange, in Winscombe, wants to support as many local groups, organisations and charities as possible.
Entries, to have a chance of being given the money, must be submitted soon, as the closing date for the grant is on 30 September at midnight.
Last year, Redrow South West donated over £10,000 to winners including Somewhere House Somerset, a local charity that helps people access therapeutic services, including counselling educational workshops and community projects.

Sian Smith, Sales Director at Redrow South West, said: “As we approach the final few weeks of this year’s community fund entries, we’re making a final call for local groups and charities to let us know how Redrow can help to secure their share of the pot.
“We’re always looking for ways we can help thriving communities in the local area which is why we're inviting groups to share their stories with us and let us know what they need to keep up their amazing work.
“We’re looking forward to hearing how we can help people across Somerset. No cause is too small and we really want to make a difference.
