HUNDREDS of people joined Taunton Pride’s march through the town centre this morning (Saturday, September 21).
People taking part gathered in Goodland Gardens from 10.30am and the march started at 11.30am
The march then reached Vivary Park, where a series of events is planned for the rest of the day (until 7.30pm), including music and comedy.
Tickets for this year’s event were free and the Pride is relying on donations, the organisers previously said.
A spokesperson for Taunton Pride said the group “wouldn’t be here” without such support.
The spokesperson said: “We wouldn’t be here without the support of lots of organisations whose contributions make the event happen.
“In this environment, committing to sponsor an event takes a lot of dedication so we want to recognize and encourage everyone to thank this range of local and national businesses who are stepping up to be true LGBTQIA+ allies this year.”
