TESCO Superstore in Shepton Mallet has reopened after it closed due to heavy rainfall on Monday.
The store in Townsend Shopping Park was forced to "briefly close", with shoppers reporting the store had "flooded".
A Tesco spokesperson said: “Our Shepton Mallet Superstore is now open as usual following a brief closure earlier today (Monday 23 September) caused by heavy rainfall.
"We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure.”
The store's closure came as a flood warning was issued for the River Sheppy due to heavy rainfall, from 5pm on Monday, September 23.
The Environment Agency's flood warning reads: "River levels are rising on the River Sheppey due to heavy rainfall today.
"This Flood Warning has been issued because flooding is expected from around 5PM today, 23/09/2024.
"Areas most at risk include the area around Charlton Viaduct, the Cider Factory and Draycott Road in Shepton Mallet, and the area around Jack’s Bridge in Croscombe. Residents are strongly urged to take action now."
