The Minehead Bay Festival saw the creation of a giant Wish Pyramid sculpture.
It was made from bamboo and adorned with more than 300 wishes from the local community and visitors.
The event, held on Saturday, August 31 on Minehead Beach, allowed festival-goers to witness and partake in the creation of this collaborative art installation.
The Wish Pyramid was created with the help of festival attendees and led by artist and sculptor Chris Oakey, who built the towering structure on the beach.
Participants were invited to tie their own wishes to the sculpture while learning techniques to construct a giant installation.
The project was brought to life with colourful ribbons made from repurposed bed sheets, donated by Julian’s Laundry.
Before the event, these sheets were decorated by local children, adding a special, personal touch to the artwork.
Maya Clayden, one of the festival organisers, said: "This project was about community, imagination, and hope.
"Seeing the wishes and dreams of so many people come together in such a powerful way was truly inspiring."
Before the event, she visited a range of local groups, including Minehead Carers Group, Minehead Talking Cafe, and the local Women's Institute, to gather wishes to be added to the sculpture.
The Wish Pyramid stands as a testament to the creativity and unity of the local community.
The Minehead Bay Festival was a day filled with creativity, fun, and magic, offering a unique opportunity for participants to see their hopes and dreams woven into an extraordinary piece of public art.
