Taunton Sinfonietta performed an intimate show at St James Church last Saturday.
The beloved orchestra entertained the audience with a selection of chamber music, including Albinoni's Concerto a Cinque and Vivaldi's Concerto for Four Violins.
Brenda Prentice said: "When asked by the music director, Mary Ede (Menuhin trained), if anyone had ever heard the Max Bruch 'Serenade based on Swedish Melodies', no one put up their hand.
"It was a musical feast which happily was shared by the mayor and her consort.
"We were so pleased they were able to join us."
The next concert will be in December at the Temple Methodist Church, featuring the winner of the Taunton Young Musician of the Year, Bibe Redford.
She studies at the Royal College and has won several international competitions, with "an interesting career in the making."
The Taunton Sinfonietta continues to bring unique musical experiences to the heart of Taunton.
