A £30 million logistics hub for helicopters has been officially opened in Yeovil.
Leonardo, the UK's only onshore helicopter manufacturer, said the new site will "revolutionise" the way it maintains its helicopters.
The hub, which replaces eight older buildings, was built with sustainability in mind, with more than 25,000 cubic metres of demolition material reused in its construction.
It will allow Leonardo to deliver helicopter parts more efficiently to its global customers.
The hub will also help to maintain the South West's "competitive edge" in aerospace products and services.
Adam Clarke, managing director of Leonardo Helicopters UK, said: "We are proud to open this impressive new Single Site Logistics Hub here in Yeovil, the Home of British Helicopters.
"This strategically-located facility will be able to draw on the region’s robust supply chain and skilled workforce and, by incorporating the latest digital and automation technologies, will enable us to offer an even better maintenance service for our UK and international customers."
The hub is part of Leonardo's wider investment in the UK, where it has built a 3,330-strong workforce.
It is equipped with LED lighting, electric vehicle charging points, a heat recovery system, and has a fleet of electric commercial vehicles.
