SHOPPERS all over the UK have begun leaving money in baby items at supermarkets as a new social media trend starts to sweep the country.

The viral "She Deserved The Purse" trend began in the US when TikTok user Denaesha Gonzalez posted a video of a purse abandoned in the baby section of a store.

She uploaded the video with the words "she deserved the purse" while also commenting: "To the mother who chose themselves last, you deserve the world tonight and always".

The video was aimed at highlighting the sacrifices mothers make to raise their children, according to Sky News.

The TikTok video has now been viewed more than 23.4 million times and received over 4.4 million likes.

The original post had viewers in tears, with one person commenting: "Crying cause it’s so much more then a purse, it’s a representation of all our sacrifices."

Viral 'She Deserved The Purse' trend sweeping across the UK

The viral TikTok trend is now sweeping across the UK, with shoppers rushing to their local supermarkets to hide money within baby products.

British influencer Liana Jade posted a video on Instagram of her putting £5 and £10 notes in items in a Sainsbury's store with notes that said things like "you're doing amazing" and "you are so loved".

In the video caption she said: "This is the sweetest trend to ever circulate and the original video made me so sad."
