A FORMER Wetherspoons pub in Taunton is looking to get more punters in after releasing a list of upcoming events.
The Coal Orchard, located at 30 Bridge Street in Taunton, has listed upcoming events including live music and a DJ set.
The pub, run by the Standen family, is looking to go from strength to strength after its opening in July 2024.
The Coal Orchard also runs free pool games every Monday on both of their pool tables, music bingo and karaoke.
The music bingo, hosted by resident DJ Nick Burrett, gives people a chance to win cash prizes whilst having a drink and playing along to some of the "best music" over the last few decades.
Held every Thursday, eyes down and ears open at 7.30pm with a cost of £2 per game, with four games during the night.
Each bingo card contains 25 song titles - with a £5 deposit needed to reserve a table which will be refunded on the night.
The pub was closed for a period from October 2022 after Wetherspoon sold the four-storey premises.
It briefly re-opened in January 2023.
Shaun Standen is the new owner of the Coal Orchard, speaking about the pub ahead of its opening this year, he said: "We want to have a traditional pub which caters for all ages.
“We will do our best to keep our prices as low as Wetherspoons, we want to be an independent, family-run pub and keep it that way.”
