This year's Frome Walking Festival was an outstanding success.
It took place between August 16 and 18 and featured 18 walks catering to all ages and interests.
Almost 300 people participated in the event.
Les Stather, of Frome Walkers Are Welcome, expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the festival's success.
He said: "Frome Walkers Are Welcome would like to thank Selwood Rotary, Frome Town Council and all the walk leaders that made this year’s Walking Festival a very successful event.
"It was enjoyed by nearly 300 people, with something for all tastes and abilities."
Participants had the opportunity to explore a variety of walks, including one that explored the blue plaques of Frome, a walk to Orchardleigh, the five-mile Frome Inner Ring, and a 13-mile walk around The Frome Walking Wheel.
A silent disco walk around the town, led by Virginia Saggers, local ‘whistorian’ and member of the Rare Species Theatre Company, was also a highlight.
The Walkers Are Welcome committee has decided that this popular festival will become an annual event, offering a similar wide variety of walks every year.
They are on the lookout for new committee members with fresh ideas for walks.
The date for the 2025 Walking Festival will be confirmed next year.
