A RECENTLY renovated Taunton bar is swapping cocktails and beers for sausage dogs this month as we go into spooky season.
Held in Taunton's Library, formerly Pitcher and Piano, a representative from the bar stated that they are “gradually layering in new events and activities” within the coming months.
The event will be run by Pop and Bark, who have already won over a legion of fans on BBC Dragons' Den and shows like ITV’s First Time Mum with Ferne McCann.
Held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, you can bring along your Dachshund to meet other Dachshunds or you can still see some decorated spooky dogs if you don't have a Dachshund - either way, you can still enjoy the fun.
Back in November 2021, Pitcher & Piano unveiled plans for a major upgrade.
In March 2022 the pub re-opened after a £550,000 refurbishment.
As well as Dachshunds, POP+BARK will also be welcoming other breeds, too! The whole day will be a doggy takeover and the day is organised into breed-specific time slots:
10am – Dachshunds
11:20am – Golden Retrievers
12:45pm – Cockapoos & similar poodle mixes
2:05pm – Labradors
3:25pm – Pugs
4:45pm – Cavaliers and King Charles Spaniels
Tickets are available online at POPANDBARK.COM, with cheaper tickets available if you are bringing your dog that is the same breed as the dog in the listed event you are going to.
Crossbreeds of the same breed of the event listed also allow you to get discounted entry.
The founders of Pop and Barks' emotional story began when James revealed that their pug, Berty, was ill.
James said, "Our dog's not particularly well, and we just want to make every day count".
Pop and Bark hosts dozens of social events for dogs and their owners all over the UK - including a Cockapoo Cafe in Essex last year.
Appearing on BBC's Dragon's Den, organisers of the Dachshund Cafe, Pop and Bark, were on the popular TV show last year.
The doggy-based business was on episode 2 of series 20 and asked for a £35k investment in exchange for a 5% share in their business.
Despite initial interest from Dragon's Touker Suleyman and Steven Bartlett, Pop and Bark didn't receive any investment.
