A DRIVER has been left in hospital after a two-car collision near Taunton.
The incident occurred at around 3pm on October 2 between Bickenhall Lane and the West Hatch turning on the A358.
The A358 reopened over an hour and a half after the police arrived at the scene around 5.30pm.
A diversion was put in place following the A358 crash, with the 30 bus temporarily diverting via Blackbrook Bus Gate and Ilminster.
Traffic was severely delayed during the accident affecting many people who use that stretch of the A358 on their commute home from work.
The average speed of traffic around the area where the incident happened was 10mph.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called at 3.51pm today (October 2) to reports of a two-car collision on the A358 near Hatch Beauchamp.
"Officers attended and closed the road. It reopened shortly before 5:30pm.
"The ambulance and fire services also attended, and two women were treated at the scene.
"One of these women has been taken to hospital."
