A SOMERSET bakery will provide Marks and Spencer's with two new Christmas desserts "guaranteed to be customer favourites" this festive period.

Created by Percys Bakery, the two new desserts that are available at M&S stores around the UK are the Caramel and Almonds Muddles Tin and Peppermint Bark.

A UK-first, M&S’s Caramel and Almonds Muddles Tin (210g - £10) features thick, chewy and deliciously salty dark caramel, fully loaded with whole and split almonds, then thickly smothered in rich Swiss dark chocolate.

Peppermint Bark (250g - £10) is a delicacy found all over the US during holiday time but is relatively unknown in Europe. However, those in the know can’t get enough of the minty layers of dark and white chocolate (Swiss, in M&S’ case, and anointed with mint oil) and topped with crushed candy cane ‘rubble’.

Percys Bakery was established in 2012 by the husband and wife team, Liam & Penny Pithers, who are Fourth-generation family bakers, originally working out of the same site in Leigh, Dorset recently moved to new premises in Yeovil, Somerset.

Named after Percy Fudge who founded the bakery in 1920. Percy always wore a bowtie, and this features on the packaging & logo in homage to him.

Percys is also a manufacturer of sweet biscuits and Florentines.
