AN official opening date for a new KFC restaurant in Wellington has been confirmed.
Originally planned to open on October 31, the drive-thru KFC was practically completed in January this year, and it was then handed over to KFC for fit-out ahead of opening.
The new opening date has been revealed, with the restaurant delaying its opening by a week to be opened next month on the November 4.
The plans to open the new KFC were suspended after the original company set to run the drive-thru went into administration.
This new KFC will be a great addition to the Wellington community, as it is set to create approximately 30 new jobs in the area.
Other food options at Wellington's Westpark include a McDonalds, Miss Millie's and a Subway.
Greggs is also confirmed to be coming to Westpark, but there is no confirmed opening date.
A delighted Ben Trickey, commercial director of Summerfield Commercial, said it was good news for the park and for the town because the arrival of the new KFC had been eagerly anticipated.
Ben said: “We are delighted to welcome KFC to the lineup at Westpark.
"This marks the completion of the last of the frontage plots on the park and is a great addition to the mix of businesses and amenities.”
