POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses who saw a crash that took place last week on the A38.
The crash took place on October 4 and was reported to the police at 8.26am. It involved two vehicles - a car and a tractor.
The County Gazette reported that a woman was "stuck in the car for hours" whilst the emergency services attended the incident.
Emergency services including the fire service, police and ambulances were at the scene.
Following the crash, a woman was taken to hospital with "serious injuries".
An eyewitness said: "It happened around 8:30am, between a tractor and a car.
"A lady was trapped in her car and when I spoke to my friend 20 minutes ago she was still trapped and panicking.
"My friend was giving a statement to the police when I last called.
"The air ambulance landed too. A38 closed both directions.”
An Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called at 8.26am today (October 4) to reports of a serious collision between a tractor and a Peugeot car on the A38 in Walford Cross.
"Officers have attended and remain at the scene alongside the fire and ambulance services.
"A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"The A38 has been closed in both directions at the junction with the A361.
