TAUNTON Carnival is next weekend, so it's time to take a mental note of the roads set to close in the town for the evening.

The carnival is taking place from 7pm on Saturday, October 19, starting at Tangier Bridge. However, some roads will be closed from as early as 2pm that day, including part of Tangier Way.

Roads are closed to allow crowds to watch the carnival safely along the route, and cars will be unable to pass during the times below.

Full list of road closures for Taunton Carnival, Saturday, October 19:

Tangier Way - 2pm until 10pm

The Taunton Carnival website states: "Please be aware that from 2:30pm [signs say 2pm] on Carnival day, Tangier Way will be closed from the bridge near Tesco (access to the car park and Lidl remains in place throughout) to Tangier Scout Hut, and to the entrance to Churchill Living (Access remains in place)."

Castle Street - 2pm until 10pm

From the junction with Tangier Car Park access road to the junction with Tangier Way.

Wood Street

From Tangier Way junction to Bridge Street junction, from 2pm until 10pm. Also closed from 6.30pm until 10pm from the junction with Bridge Street to the junction with Yarde Place.

Bridge Street - 6.30pm until 10pm

From junction with Wood Street to junction with The Bridge.

The Bridge - 6.30pm until 10pm

Entire length.

North Street - 6.30pm until 10pm

Entire length.

The Parade Roundabout - 6.30pm until 10pm

Corporation Street - 6.30pm until 10pm

From the junction with Castle Way to the junction with Fore Street.
