AMANDA Holden set off from Taunton on day two of her "epic" 250-mile charity bike ride for Global’s Make Some Noise — later stopping in Langport for an egg bap and to warm her feet.

The Heart Breakfast presenter was waved off by Taunton's Mayor Cllr Vanessa Garside early on Tuesday, October 8, as she left Taunton's Premier Inn.

Taunton Town Council shared in a Facebook post: "And she's off. Cllr Vanessa Garside The Mayor of Taunton waved Amanda Holden off on the next leg of her cycle ride this morning. #ThisIsTaunton #ProudMayor."

Amanda then stopped around 12 miles in for a well-deserved breakfast at the Kitchen at the Wharf in Langport as the rain continued to pour down.

Speaking in a voice note to Heart Radio presenter Pandora Christie, Amanda said: "Pandora, you've got me at a wrong point. I’m going up a hill, but I have just had the eggiest bap at Kitchen at the Wharf in Langport. What a breakfast that was, thank you to everybody there!

"The weather is biblical. It's coming down in stair rods, as they said on Paddington. I'm honestly soaked to the skin, my bum, everything's wet, but only my thumbs are aching.

"So I'm lucky at the moment, and I'm thinking that could be because of the amount of support we're getting and I am constantly putting my thumbs up, maybe it's that! But keep those donations coming in. This morning, we got the best news. The Wild Robot has donated 100,000 pounds to Global’s Make Some Noise, so that's what's keeping us going in this blinking awful weather! Love you Pan!"

Heart Breakfast’s Amanda Holden will cycle a lengthy 250 miles from Bude, Cornwall to London in a bid to raise funds for Global’s Make Some Noise.

‘Amanda Holden’s Big Ride To Work’ will see Amanda cycle from Bude, Cornwall, to the Heart studios in Leicester Square over the course of five days, clocking up a gruelling eight hours of cycling a day and covering over 250 miles.

Amanda began her challenge in Cornwall, cycling through Somerset, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Surrey to get to Heart HQ in London’s Leicester Square on Friday, October 11 - just in time for Global’s Make Some Noise Day.

The presenter, who hosts Heart Breakfast alongside Jamie Theakston, is taking on the challenge in aid of Heart’s charity, Global’s Make Some Noise, which is changing lives across the UK by funding vital projects delivered by small charities - tackling issues such as mental health, poverty and homelessness.
