CONTINUING the hunt for the best burger meal deal in Taunton, I decided to try the burger bar within a pub on the High Street.

Available at a reasonable price of £11.95, you can buy a burger meal deal from K-Town Chicken.

Despite serving up daily munch, the burger bar doesn’t have its own physical premises as it resides in a popular pub, The Cricketers.

The Cricketers, on the High Street, which first opened in 2019, is owned by Stonegate Pubs, but the company is searching for new people to take the helm.

The pub benefits from a large area with pool tables and dartboards, as well as booth seating with TVs for sports fans, low level seating for a cosier feel, and a large number of HD screens.

Despite sharing the same kitchen as The Cricketers, you can only order this deal online.

Craving a bit of BBQ flavour, I opted for the Korean BBQ Chicken Burger and added cheese to it for £1.

You can also add further extras onto your burger including an extra chicken patty for £3.

The other burgers available in the meal deal are the Classic Chicken Burger, Buffalo Chicken Burger, Siracha Gold Chicken Burger (which sounds amazing), and six chicken tenders.

The burger met my expectations, with a nice seasoned crispy chicken fillet inside the bun paired with a tangy and creamy coleslaw.

The burger could’ve been presented better but other than that it was decently sized and held the right combination of flavour.

What brings this deal down for me is the chips, I didn’t enjoy them.

Despite getting 52 chips in total, which was more than what I got from Eat the Bird, I wasn’t happy with how dry they tasted.

I recommend ordering a dip if you want a chance to enjoy these chips.

As for the rest of the side options, you can also get loaded fries for an extra £3.50.

The rest of the sides include Cajun fries, ‘K-Slaw’ and ‘K-Rings’.

There is also an option for a 500ml bottle of water.

Within the deal I’ve selected, you can also order alcohol as your drink for an extra £0.99, with the featured options including a Brewdog Punk IPA and a Rekorderlig Strawberry and Lime.

Overall, I rate this deal quite highly but considering you can get the same food at Eat the Bird for a price of £9.95, I still think, at the moment, Eat the Bird is top when it comes to meal deals in Taunton.
