A two-day road closure will be in place through Croscombe at the end of the month, on the main road leading to Shepton Mallet.
Long Street will be closed from 09.30am to 3.30pm on October 28 and 29.
It will be closed from the junction with Back Lane to the junction with Duncart Lane for a total distance of 24 metres.
The road is being closed so that Wessex Water can carry out work on a damaged manhole cover "in the centre of the carriageway".
A diversion will be in place along Old Wells Road and St Peter's Road.
