FIVE Somerset lads are taking on a challenge this weekend which will see them walk from London to Bristol in just 48 hours.

Ryan, Arthur, Jack, Danny and Sol are picking up their running shoes and sunglasses this weekend - in the hope of raising as much money as they can for charity.

Organised by Sol Withers, who is also walking this weekend, Sol explains the reason why the group have decided to take on this physical challenge.

The boys have chosen The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), as a charity that people can donate to in support of their walk.

A just-giving page has been started up where people can donate in support of the boys - you can find the link here: The Big Bad Trek for the RNLI.

Sol said: "Having grown by the coast, we have witnessed first-hand the importance of the RNLI. It's (The RNLI) an incredible, selfless charity that saves lives in crazy conditions.

"We plan on completing the 175 Km trek from Eton to Bristol in 48 hours, with no overnight stops in aid of this quality cause.

"It shall be no mean feat as we aim to cover over 4 marathons non-stop.

"Too many people are still drowning. More than ever we need the RNLI’s help.

"As a charity, the RNLI depends on our donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe.

"RNLI lifesavers are our lifeline. They’re the lifeboat crews who provide 24-hour search and rescue right around the UK and Ireland.

"Any amount that you can kindly donate does go a long way, so please chuck us a fiver, a tenner or whatever you can afford. If you can't donate, simply sharing this page seriously helps us and others out!

"You never know when you’re gonna need them!

"Lots of love from Sol, Arthur, Jack, Danny and Ryan."

Ryan Treagus is another one of the five boys taking part in the 175km walk tomorrow (starting 12 October).

In his spare time, Ryan tries to keep active as much as he can, including playing football for two 6-aside teams called Borussia Teeth and Taunton Predators.

A little taken aback, but still optimistic about the challenge this weekend, Ryan said: "I'm very excited to get underway (with the walk).

"I'm a little apprehensive but we will get it done together."
