A new book is set to bring Somerset's ancient Dunster Dragon legend back to life.
Tale of the Dunster Dragon, written by storyteller and poet Alexandra Simson, features illustrations by Andrew Prescott.
The book, a blend of story and poem, aims to engage a modern audience with the mystery of the mythical dragon while celebrating Dunster's castle and its scenic landscapes.
The book, which draws inspiration from a Celtic-Christian legend, encapsulates a long-forgotten tale with a message deemed significant for contemporary readers.
The book will be available for purchase online.
The book's launch coincides with the National Trust's announcement of a new event as part of its autumn half-term programme at Dunster Castle.
On Wednesday, October 30, Simson will share the Tale of the Dunster Dragon in an immersive oral tradition experience.
This event, intended for families and visitors of all ages, offers a unique chance to engage with the legend within the castle walls.
It encourages attendees to explore Dunster Castle and its grounds through the lens of the rich folklore surrounding the historic site.
Further details can be found on the National Trust's Dunster Castle webpage.
