The cast of the Christmas musical, Pinocchio, at Taunton Brewhouse has been announced.

The show, which starts on December 4, is a fresh adaptation of the beloved tale written and directed by Emma Williams.

The main cast consists of professional actors alongside a 16-strong youth ensemble, many of whom are local to the area.

Emile Clarke will play Papa Blue/Geppetto, with stage credits including Crimes On Centre Court at Theatre Royal Bath.

Cornish actor Jowan Jacobs will take on the role of Sid/Pinocchio.

He is a founding member of Out of Pocket Theatre and has appeared in films such as BAFTA-winning BAIT and Fisherman’s Friends 2.

Somerset-based Vic Llewellyn, with a 30-year theatre career, will portray Mule, whilst Sedona Rose, known for her self-created circus cabaret acts, will play Big Fish.

Gabrielle Sheppard will play Cricket, with numerous credits including BBC/Amazon's The Outlaws.

The production promises a vibrant stage transformation by set and costume designer Katie Sykes, and lighting designer Jane Lalljee.

Music is composed by Thomas Johnson, with lyrics by Emma Williams and Vic Llewellyn.

As part of its community support initiative, Taunton Brewhouse will collaborate with Taunton Foodbank to provide free tickets for families who would otherwise be unable to attend.

Customers can contribute to this cause by participating in the Pay It Forward campaign when purchasing their tickets.

The executive director at Taunton Brewhouse, Vickie Robbins, said: "We are thrilled to be supporting the valuable work of Taunton Foodbank for a second year.

"Last year, our patrons helped us to distribute 100 tickets via the Foodbank, so we’re hoping to match that again this Christmas.

"Pinocchio is already shaping up to be a spectacular extravaganza and we can’t wait to share it."

The venue will also provide British Sign Language interpreted performances on December 7 and 12, an Audio Described performance on December 13, and a Relaxed Performance on December 27, ensuring the event is inclusive and accessible for all.

The musical will be performed at Taunton Brewhouse from December 4 to December 29 and is suitable for all ages.

Tickets can be booked on the Taunton Brewhouse website - tauntonbrewhouse.co.uk - or by contacting the Box Office on 01823 283244.
