A NEW unlimited buffet has opened in Somerset this month with the owners offering a variety of cuisines to the restaurant.
The new restaurant's owners have been "very busy", especially after revealing that certain menu items in the unlimited buffet will be served fresh.
Somerset Buffet, based in Taunton's Heron Gate, provide customers with a range of food including Indian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican and Grill options.
The new restaurant is open every day from 12pm-10pm - including weekends.
The Somerset Buffet is co-owned by Salman and Kazi Hoque, who owned the previous restaurant, The Somerset Masala, before opening the Somerset Buffet.
The duo-ownership has formed at the business which replaced its former placeholder, the Somerset Masala, which opened in 2022.
The Somerset Masala, which specialised in Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine, was managed by now-owner, Kazi Hoque.
The restaurant served customers a "modern yet authentic menu for local people to enjoy".
Since then, the business has had a complete overhaul, with an internal decor change and a new sign.
This includes serving some fresh food which includes Mexican options and two burgers (beef or chicken).
Speaking about the opening, Somerset Buffet co-owner Salman said: "We've been so busy.
"The restaurant is in a good place (Heron Gate) as we are right by the cinema and Hollywood Bowl, so why not pop in to see us?
"In the next month, we have so much planned, we are looking at bringing in 360 cameras and new food.
"The plan is, as the Mexican and grill food (burgers) are made fresh every day, we want to have a base where the cooks are making the food fresh in front of everyone.
"Right now we serve burritos, tacos and burgers fresh.
"We are thinking of ideas for more food options to serve but we are more than happy with what we put out each day and it seems that so are the people who are eating here."
