THE first Wellington Together event is coming soon to “connect the communities”.

The event will take place on October 26, from 11am to 3pm at Court Fields School.

A spokesperson said: “This fun gathering invites everyone to connect, share experiences, and celebrate our diversity.

“Join us as we kick off a new way to connect our communities in Wellington.

“The event's team of volunteers are being supported by the Somerset Diverse Communities team at the Community Council for Somerset (CCS).

Highlights of the Day

• Bhangra Dancing Workshop with Avtar: Experience the high-energy and rhythms of traditional Bhangra dancing. Led by the talented Avtar, this workshop will get everyone on their feet, whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a first timer.

• Culturally Diverse Food: Explore a world of flavours with an array of delicious dishes representing various cultures.

• Somerset Art Works – ‘Spinning the Yarn’ Workshop: Get hands-on with wool at this creative workshop where you’ll learn to craft beautiful pictures using wool fibres. A fun activity for all ages, led by Somerset Art Works.

• Somerset Film – Animation Workshop: Dive into the world of animation with Somerset Film. Whether you’re young or young at heart, you’ll love creating your own animations in this interactive workshop.

• South-West heritage trust: Come and try your hand at screen printing and learning about different heritage objects from across Somerset
