The self-proclaimed "bad boy of poetry" is back in Somerset with three highly anticipated shows.

Luke Wright will first perform at the Crooked Swan in Crewkerne on November 22, before visiting Langport Town Hall on November 23, and ending at Chard Guildhall on November 24.

He has made quite the name for himself on the spoken word scene with his inventive and insightful poems, often peppered with humour.

Now, the poet is ready to entertain his audiences with his new show, Joy.

The show is set to explore the idea of joy and whether it is possible to feel pure, unbridled happiness as a 42-year-old.

He will delve into themes of family, fatherhood, and the love of language itself.

Mr Wright's previous show, Silver Jubilee, was described by the Telegraph as "the best thing he’s done and that’s saying something."

While The Scotsman described his work as "breathtaking… with a sharpness and wisdom that lifts the soul, and soothes the battered heart."

The Stage commended his "winning combination of honesty, humour, ire and wonder," saying he is at the peak of his powers.

With his charismatic stage presence and humorous patter, Mr Wright is set to captivate his audience with his insightful poems on modern day issues.

Those wishing to see Mr Wright live in Chard on November 24 can book tickets now.

Doors open at 7pm, with the performance starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £10, or £7 for low income individuals.

Early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
