THE family-owned Anchor Inn at Hillfarrance has been run by the same family for nearly 18 years, and their Sunday roast is a real winner.
Anchor Inn's award-winning Sunday Roast is highly recommended and has been voted Somerset’s Best Sunday Roast not once, but twice.
The pub, near Taunton, offers fresh food and local produce, with seasonal menus offering "interesting well-thought-out dishes".
Anchor Inn's team said: "Everything is homemade and each element is meticulously prepared to make it a 10 out of 10 week in, week out.
"From the crackling on the locally farmed pork loin to the perfection found in every spoonful of Sunday gravy, everything is prepared and cooked with care to deliver a proper homemade Sunday Roast. Looking after our customers is our top priority."
The pub has held a 5* food hygiene rating for 15 years, and "confidently" offers gluten-free and vegan Sunday roasts alongside their Sunday menu, which are very popular for those with dietary requirements. Their Sunday menu also offers pub classics.
Anchor Inn's dessert board features five homemade puddings that change each week, with treats such as hot toffee cheesecake and apple and pear crumble made from fruit grown onsite and locally.
The Anchor is a popular choice for large family gatherings and is well known for expertly catering for large parties. It has dog-friendly eating areas and some lovely walks on their doorstep.
Opening hours are 12pm to 8pm on Sundays. Booking in advance is strongly advised as the Anchor is "more often than not fully booked" for the well-loved Sunday lunch.
