FIRE FIGHTERS at Taunton Fire Station were practising high-rise rescues this week at the offices of the waste management company Viridor.
The crew attended the fire drill at Viridor House in Taunton on Tuesday, October 22, to test out their casualty rescue skills at height.
Taunton Fire Station shared photos of the "invaluable practical training", which allowed them to drill rescues using the Aerial Ladder Platform.
Taunton Fire Station shared in a Facebook post: "White Watch, along with members of the On-call, conducted a high-rise drill at Viridor House.
"A special thanks to Ian and his team for granting us access to their building, enabling this invaluable practical training.
"The drill focused on initial response actions to a confirmed fire in a tall building, with the additional practice using the Aerial Ladder Platform to simulate casualty rescues from height."
