A GLASTONBURY man who posted sexually explicit photos of his former partner online is to be sentenced by Somerset Magistrates next month.

Adam David Capewell circulated the intimate photos of the victim on a website, much to the horror of his ex, and when he was arrested by police he confessed to what he had done.

Capewell, 39, of Turstin Road, appeared in the dock at Yeovil where he pleaded guilty to a newly-introduced offence of intentionally sharing photographs which showed another person in an intimate state when that person did not consent.

Prosecutor Andrew Meadows said that the complainant and defendant had previously been in an intimate relationship and it was alleged the complainant was “openly a swinger.”

He said that Capewell could not accept this form of relationship and after it ended the offence took place.

“The complainant had a message from an old friend about a photo she had seen on a certain website,” he said.

“The victim was adamant it was not her who had sent the photos and could deduce it had been circulated by the defendant.”

Capewell admitted posting the photos to the police and Mr Meadows said this was a relatively new offence brought by the courts focusing on issued around consent.

The magistrates said they wanted to learn more information about the defendant and adjourned sentencing until November 26 for a pre-sentence report to be prepared by the Probation Service.

Until then he was released on bail with conditions he must not contact the complainant or go to her address.
