Dr John Bowman has been named Trustee of the Year by the Community Council for Somerset.
He has been a Merriott Village Hall trustee for over a decade.
Adam Dance, the MP for Yeovil, praised his service, presenting him with a bottle of wine.
He said: "John has since 2015 been both vice chair and fundraising lead at Merriott Village Hall raising over £80,000 pounds for projects including Community Lunches and a refitted kitchen.
"He is hardworking, diligent, reliable, modest and a pleasure to work alongside."
