EXMOOR'S seventy-year-old tearoom Kitnors has been let to a new operator and is expected to reopen to customers in the Spring.

The English tearoom temporarily closed its doors at the end of the season on October 17 and has been taken over by new operators David Jenkins and Linzy Ottley.

Kitnors is well-established and loved by locals and visitors alike in the quaint village of Bossington, Somerset, inside the Exmoor National Park.

Inside the 'chocolate-box' 15th-century thatched cottage, Kitnors serves teas, coffees, light lunches, and afternoon teas [in summer]. It boasts a large tea garden seating 50, and an outdoor kitchen for warmer months.

The cottage is under a National Trust lease and contains a three-bedroom owners’ accommodation, including a large lounge diner with an open fire. It was let by specialist business property adviser Christie & Co.

Kitnors has been let on behalf of Katy Lampard, who ran the tearoom for nine years. She said: "It has been a pleasure operating Kitnors.

"We have been supported by so many wonderful customers over the years and I am confident that David and Linzy will take it from strength to strength."

New operators, David and Linzy, commented: "We are tremendously excited about taking over Kitnors and have big plans for its future. We look forward to welcoming back all our customers when we reopen in the Spring."

Tim Widdows, Associate Director at Christie & Co who managed the sale, commented: "It was a pleasure working on the sale of Kitnors, we received plenty of interest and I am delighted it has gone to such enthusiastic new operators. I wish them the best of luck in their new venture."
