A Somerset animal rescue centre has shared advice on keeping pets calm during firework displays.
Happy Landings Animal Rescue in Pylle, Shepton Mallet, has issued a list of tips ahead of Bonfire Night.
"Fireworks are beautiful to watch, but for our animal friends it can cause a lot of stress," a spokesperson for the centre said.
"Whether it’s their first bonfire night or their fourth, it’s important to make sure they feel safe before you can enjoy the fireworks yourself."
The charity recommends keeping all pets, including outdoor rabbits, indoors before 4pm, as fireworks may be set off before dark.
Pet owners should also prepare their homes by closing blinds and windows, and moving a pet's essentials into a preferred room.
Turning on the TV or radio can also lessen outdoor noise.
The charity advises pet owners to contact a vet if their pets have shown signs of extreme stress in the past, as they can recommend stress-relieving products.
If possible, at least one member of the household should stay with the pets throughout the fireworks.
Signs of stress in pets can include refusing food, pacing, excessive grooming, dilated pupils, slow movements, hissing in cats, and hiding.
