A Wellington author has released his second novel.
Marc Bright's latest work, Shadows of Destiny, hit the shelves on October 23.
The Rockwell Green native, who began his writing journey during the pandemic, has crafted another action-packed adventure.
Shadows of Destiny is a sequel to his debut novel, Eternal Tides, which was published last November.
It continues the adventures of treasure hunter Ethan Forde, who becomes embroiled in a thrilling quest involving a golden spyglass linked to Napoleon Bonaparte's chief of staff, Louis-Alexandre Berthier.
The spyglass is said to contain clues to the legendary Spear of Destiny, a relic believed to bestow the power to conquer the world.
The story takes readers on a globe-trotting adventure, from France to Germany and Syria, with Mr Bright's hometown of Wellington playing a key part in the narrative.
The novel also features a sinister faction, Iron Star, a shadowy remnant of the Nazi SS, who are also after the Spear of Destiny, planning to use its power to impose their twisted vision on the world.
Mr Bright, married to Emma and father to a son named Harrison, started writing as a way to fulfil a long-time dream.
His debut novel was published by Blossom Spring Publishing and has been doing reasonably well, prompting the publisher to request more of Ethan Forde's adventures.
Shadows of Destiny can be pre-ordered on Amazon and other online retailers.
Mr Bright expressed his excitement at the reception of pre-orders for his new book.
