THERE are plans in place to close off the M5 for a few days as works continue into the night to fix parts of the Motorway in Somerset.
Announced by National Highways, the M5 is closing tonight for three days in a row this week.
M5 advance closures notice for tonight and the weekend:
- The M5 will be fully closed southbound at Junction 26 - Junction 28 from 8:30pm-6am tonight (November 1).
- One lane will be closed on the M5 heading southbound for 13 days starting tomorrow (November 2) at Junction 26- Junction 28. This will be in place from 6am.
- The M5 again will be fully closed southbound between Junctions 26-28 from 8:30pm-6am on November 3.
The A303 is also closing from 9pm-6pm at Mere to Tinkers Hill as part of the National Highway's planned closures.
Speaking ahead of the planned closures, a spokesperson for National Highways said: "The M5 is closed northbound between Junction 28 and Junction 26 for structural works.
