WORKS have been carried out to refurbish lighting on Taunton Town Bridge as part of a major project which included several upgrades.
Residents praised works on the lighting of the bridge and shared several positive comments on social media once they noticed the refurbishment.
Works on the bridge started in January this year.
Engineering reports revealed the need for extensive refurbishing works to the bridge structure, including concrete repairs, parapet repairs, new joints, waterproofing, and painting of the steelwork and ornate cast iron parapets.
The initial results were first noticed in April, when new painting could be seen on the Grade II listed Town Bridge over the River Tone in the centre of Taunton.
Back then, it was said the painting will ensure the steel and iron elements of the bridge are protected for another 30 to 40 years.
