TWO Somerset Boba Corner cafes, located at 52 Bridge Street, Taunton and 14 Wine Street, Yeovil, are officially closing down shop as the current owners search for someone new to take over.
Boba Corner started in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic with the hopes of introducing bubble teas and Asian desserts here in Somerset as well as engaging with the wider community.
However, due to changing personal circumstances, the owners, Boba Drop LTD, have made the decision to put family first and bid a teary-eyed farewell to Boba Corner.
A spokesperson for Boba Drop LTD said: “It is time for us to pass on the torch. We are looking for someone who shares our passion and unwavering dedication for bubble teas, cafes, and community involvement to continue boba corner’s legacy.
“We are really proud of what we have accomplished - from our unique and authentic bubble tea flavours to welcoming staff and the strong community we have cultivated and the friendships that have blossomed through Boba Corner.
“We want to thank every one of you for your unwavering support. We are immensely grateful to our loyal patrons, whose support and trust have been instrumental in our success. Let’s make the next chapter of boba corner a success together.”
One of the Boba Corner employees in Taunton said: “I truly enjoy working at boba corner, it helped me boost my confidence and made good friends.
“Although it is unfortunate that the shop is selling. I will do my best in helping the new owners as much as I can.”

Boba Drop LTD are open to discussing terms and are dedicated to facilitating a seamless transition for the next phase of boba corner.
The spokesperson for Boba Drop LTD said that Boba Corner has taught them many things professionally – as this was their first ever business venture as entrepreneurs.
They said: “It has helped us reconnect deeply with the Yeovil and Taunton communities. We also connected and built good relationships with local schools.
“For us, our service is not just about the delicious bubble teas but also making sure that our customers had a smile on their face whenever they come in at boba corner.
"For the next owner of boba corner, you’ll have our full support, guidance, and a well-trained staff, along with ample potential for growth and expansion to further develop multiple opportunities of the business.”
With both cafes obtaining 5-star ratings for food hygiene and 54 Google reviews with a 4.8-star average rating, the current owners are confident that the shop will continue to thrive and flourish under brand new management.
Both Boba Corner stores do not have a final closing date yet but Boba Drop LTD have said they will keep us updated.
