OFFICERS investigating an incident in Taunton last month in which a man suffered fractured ribs and a broken hand, and a window of Little Italy restaurant was broken, are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
At about 7.20pm on Saturday, October 19, a group of 20 to 30 people were involved in an altercation with the man in the courtyard of the Orchard Centre. The man was taken to hospital and has since returned home.
The group also threw chairs and signs at the restaurant following the altercation, police said.
Any witnesses of the incident, or people with any other possibly relevant information, are encouraged to contact the police who said extra patrols have been carried out since the incident. The police have also been conducting CCTV enquiries in the area.
People are asked to call 101 and use the reference number 5224276159. The public can also complete an online Avon and Somerset Police report.
Alternatively, the public can call Crimestoppers 100% per anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via the charity's anonymous online form.
“No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers,” the police said.
