The Taunton Swimathon is back and open for bookings.
The 34th annual event will take place at Taunton School Preparatory School on Saturday and Sunday, February 15 and 16, with online bookings available at taunton-swimathon.co.uk.
Organised by Taunton Soroptimists, in partnership with Taunton Round Table and Taunton 41 Club, the Swimathon will raise funds for three local charities: the Duke of Edinburgh Bursary Fund for Girls in Somerset, Stand against Violence, and the Taunton East Development Trust.
The Swimathon is a community event, welcoming teams from various local sectors, including businesses, schools, youth groups, and more.
Participants only need to swim 50 metres in any stroke, with teams of up to six swimming in relay for one hour.
Entry is £10 per team, and participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship, with no minimum requirement.
Medals will be awarded to every swimmer, along with the chance to win trophies.
Open to individuals aged eight and above, the Swimathon has raised over £676,000 in the past 33 years, benefiting 80 local charities.
A spokesperson for the Swimathon said: "Our Swimathon is great fun and a real community event.
"You don't need to be a great swimmer either.
"You just need to be able to swim 50 metres in one go in whatever stroke you like.
"We don't mind if it's breast stroke, crawl or doggy paddle.
"Teams of up to six people swim in relay fashion for just 53 minutes, so it only takes an hour out of your weekend.
"So please come and join in the fun and raise money for these very worthwhile local good causes."
