TAUNTON'S independent market organisers are considering a night market next month as we enter the festive shopping period.
The Taunton Independent Market has been a huge success for Taunton ever since it first started up back in March 2020, bringing thousands of visitors to Taunton.
Situated in Castle Green, the market is held on the second Sunday and last Saturday of every month from March to December.
When the idea was brought up online, people seemed to be barely positive about the idea.

One person who lives in Taunton said: "Great idea, it might encourage more shops to open late ,and more people come into town to shop, like it was years ago."
Another person said: "Get park and ride to stay open later, and do it same night as late night xmas shopping, usually on Thursdays in December I believe.
"Perhaps a street band too."
The Taunton Independent Market, usually based in Taunton's Castle Green, was also considering the prospect of allowing businesses to have a free space at upcoming markets.
A great day out for anyone who comes to Somerset, admission is free for all visitors.
Speaking about the potential night market this winter, an organiser from The Taunton Independent Market said: "Would you like to see a Christmas 'Night Market' in Taunton this December?
"Imagine fairy lights, Christmas Carols, delicious food, fabulous Christmas shopping opportunities and loads of festive cheer!
"This special Christmas Market would likely be on Thursday, December 12, and Thursday, December 19, from 5pm - 9pm and we think it will be a brilliant boost to the town centre economy and a lovely edition to Taunton’s late night shopping.
"What do you think? Let us know!"
