New owners have taken over at a popular Somerset pub near Taunton as they hope to reignite the local community.

Situated near the Quantock Hills, the Rising Sun is looking to attract new and returning customers with their "delicious" Sunday Roast.

The pub offers simple rooms, a pub-style restaurant and a complimentary full breakfast when staying at the Somerset spot.

The owners, Joanna and Ray Matravers, decided to take over the reins at the Rising Sun, which reopened this month.

Food and drink are available with the kitchen team serving limited food options at the moment.

The new team will release full menus on November 10 with more options.

Speaking after taking over at the Rising Sun, the new owners said: "The Rising Sun is now under new management and leased to us for the next few years.

"We have absolutely nothing to do with the previous management and will be offering our new menus from Sunday, November 10.

"We look forward to welcoming everyone back to their village pub and enjoying what is essentially a massive asset to the local area."
