A GARDEN centre, near Wellington, has provided a positive update to customers after a devastating fire forced it to close last week.
The Old Well Garden Centre, located near Wellington, just off the A38, was engulfed in flames in the early hours of the morning on November 1.
Things are looking up for the family-run business as, despite adversity, the team at The Old Well have reopened the garden centre as of yesterday (October 6).
The garden centre was shut for five days and, due to smoke, residents in the local area were advised to keep their windows and doors closed.
The area most affected by the fire damage has been cordoned off and is now awaiting demolition.

One of the owners, Robert Lamyman, said the fire was contained within the new entrance to the garden centre.
He added that the majority of the wider site, including plants, outdoor display areas, the café, restaurant and gift shop, were all saved by firefighters.
Rob released a positive statement yesterday (October 6) revealing that The Old Well Garden Centre has reopened for customers.
Rob said: "Since my last update on Monday, my family, our amazing team and our incredible support network of suppliers have worked tirelessly for us here at The Old Well.
"I can now confirm we’ve re-opened as of midday today.
"A new & temporary entrance and exit marquee is in place, with replacement till points.
"The Cafe, Restaurant, Plants Arenas and Gift Shop are all open to welcome our wonderful customers back.
"When you arrive, please drive slowly and carefully through to our car parking area, following staff guidance along with the clear signage in place.
"Some things will understandably be different.
"Words still cannot convey how overwhelming & upsetting this time has been for us all here at the Garden Centre.
"So for now I’ll just say thank you, thank you, thank you.
"Thank you for the phenomenal support, the cards, letters, messages and offers to help.
"It’s without doubt spurred us on.
"Remember to bring those kind smiles and plenty of patience with you when you come back - as we begin to find our feet again and try our best to move forward.
"The area destroyed by the fire is now safely cordoned off awaiting demolition before we set to rebuild.
"Finally, an update regarding Christmas products, Christmas Trees, activities and events will follow later this week.
"We can and will still spread that Old Well Christmas Cheer - even if we do it a bit differently this year.
"See you soon, Rob."
