Engineers are set to complete work to extend a full fibre connection to around 900 rural residents and business owners in Milborne Port.
The project commenced when Gigaclear, a telecoms company, began extending its network from Castle Cary using fibre optic cables.
Workers have been digging new trenches and utilising existing infrastructure to reach each property.
Lynnette Rowland, senior project manager, said: "Taking our full fibre to rural communities that might otherwise have copper or an inferior part fibre broadband connection fundamentally changes them for the better because it creates choice for the people in those communities about how they work and how they live their lives."
Neighbouring Templecombe and Henstridge are also part of this initiative to ensure rural areas have access to the same fast, reliable broadband enjoyed by larger urban areas.
