A PUB near Taunton is hosting a free event, including a hog roast and live music, following a change of management.

The Rising Sun in West Bagborough is reopening under new management today (November 9) and wants to invite new and returning punters to a free event to celebrate.

The Rising Sun is a "Luxury Hotel In The Heart Of Somerset" that offers fine dining and a complimentary breakfast with every stay.

The pub was constructed around 16th-century cob walls and dates back to 1573.

It was originally called The Shepherd’s Crook, but was known to the villagers simply as "Crook".
